Since producing the CD “Grass Clippings”, seen lower down this page, we now have available the book “ Grass Bound” which shows the words, chords and keys to all 44 songs.

After a great deal of work by Ed, one of our original members, this is now ready in pdf format to be sent out to all members.

All future members will also receive the free CD and be sent the words by email.

It would be worthwhile and at quite reasonable cost, to have the book printed and bound at somewhere like Office Works. Not sure of the printing cost but the binding costs less than $4.00 we are informed.

Terry Fullwood died on the Tuesday of the Bluegrass Club’s March meeting , 13th March 2012. We heard the following morning and all members were notified on the Wednesday. For all those who didn’t hear the sad news, the attached obituary was published in the West Australian. This gives a great insight to a multi-talented man who, since the inception of the Bluegrass Club in 2006 had offered his time to attend, advise and play, fitting us in to his obviously busy and productive life. It is a passing of an era for us all.

Here’s a nice classic five string bluegrass banjo being offered by one of our members. It is thought to have been constructed in the early 1980’s when it could be said that Ibanez were producing some of their best instruments

The banjo is in great condition, comes with a hard case and has that desirable bluegrass sound. It would suit those wanting to get into the music in a serious way but at around the same price you might pay for a new, lesser quality “starter” banjo such as the “Goodtime”, minus the case.

These rarely come up, especially at $795. Contact initially to Bob 93352598.

The Bluegrass Club of WA has just compiled a CD consisting of forty-four great bluegrass classics, in mp3 format. The project came about in response to members wanting to know more about songs and tunes they had heard being played at the club.
The compilation was arrived at by noting down popular songs being played over a few meetings and so is quite arbitrary. We hope it meets with approval.
There is also an accompanying list showing the songs’ names with the keys that they would normally be played in at the club.
The CD will be available free of charge, to all members, at the May the 11th meeting.
